Obligatory Baseball Post.

If you know me well enough, you know that I am a huge baseball fan. An even bigger Mets fan. I have lived through more heartbreak and losing seasons than you could imagine. But each year I proudly represent the Blue & Orange. I’m never any less of a fan than I am when they are winning. This offseason, they lost Jose Reyes and everybody keeps talking about how terrible they are. I can’t help but be excited for this season. They have a better team (when healthy) than a lot of people give them credit for. And then I see quotes from their 2B Daniel Murphy like this:

“I sent Ike Davis a text. I told him I was putting in a request with Terry Collins to hit somewhere near him to get some good pitches. That guy is a killer and I want to be near him. … He kind of laughed and texted back: ‘Let’s go dominate.’ I think we’re ready and excited for the season.”

I love hearing this like this. I love seeing a young, gritty player ready to play his heart out and prove everyone wrong. He also went on to say this:

“Expectations for us this year are like any other. We expect to go to the playoffs.”

Murph may be a butcher in the field, and he may have hands of stone, but he’s got one hell of a bat and a heart to back it up. I love players just like this. After his season ended to an injury last year, I can’t wait for him to succeed this year. Baseball season is 2 months away.. Hyped.
